| Foz do Arelho is a prime location for holidays or short breaks. This is the best place for many surfers in the region and one can also choose the calm waters of the lagoon to practice other water sports. All fish and shellfish kinds can be found in the pier zone, but this western region also offers a vast cuisine and wine diversity. A visit to the walled village called Óbidos, which is surrounded by little whitewashed houses, is not to be missed. Known for its famous traditional liqueur, “Ginjinha”, this village is a must in events marking the national agenda, as the Chocolate Festival or the Christmas Village Festival. |
