HOW TO GET THERE AND WHAT TO DO...

Ilha de Armona is a small island located in the Ria Formosa, a welcoming place and a paradise. It is accessible only by small ferry-boats that link the island with the town of Olhão. Buy fresh fish and vegetables in the local market, drink coffee on the many surrounding terraces and visit the cubist village of white houses with their ornate Algarve chimneys. Not far from Olhão lies the town of Tavira. But Ilha de Armona hides simple pleasures like the tranquility of those who are away from it all, the gathering of clams during the low tide, the promenades along the beach and the observation of local species or simply sunbathing.
