| Vagueira is located near the beaches of Vagueira and Areão that are both classified as “Accessible Beaches” and where one can watch the herons in the wild and sunbathing at the same time. These beaches are also very popular for surfing and bodyboarding. The access to the beach is made easier by wooden walkways, offering the opportunity to know more about the fishermen’s daily life, the Arte Xávega, a tradition that represents the trawl fishing in the region. Visit the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Vagos, the mills of São Romão and the belvedere overlooking the Aveiro lagoon (Ria de Aveiro). |
