| São Pedro de Moel belongs to the Marinha Grande Municipality that has a longstanding tradition of glass-making. The lighthouse built in 1912 and the Penedo da Saudade are located north of São Pedro de Moel, a beautiful village with magnificent sandy beaches. Do not miss the “Volta dos Sete " and the "Volta dos Cinco” routes. These routes combine sea and beach landscape with fountains and streams in the middle of the Leiria Pinewood Forest. Visit the Batalha Monastery built by order of King Jonh I in gratitude for its victory at the Battle of Aljubarrota, which eventually became one of the symbols of Portuguese national consolidation. |
