Compliance responsibility with Data Protection and Privacy Laws
Orbitur undertakes to comply with the applicable laws and undermininggood practises, of Data and Privacy Protection, in order to protect your personal information, and also commits to use it in a legitimate, honest and clear way. Orbitur is particularly focused in assuring conformity with the proposals of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 by the European Parliament and Council of April 27th 2016 for the protection of singular people regarding the treatment and free movement of personal data, hereinafter referred to as RGPD.
About us
Orbitur – Intercâmbio de Turismo, S.A is the group with the highest number of camping and caravan sites in Portugal. With its presence in the market since 1960, it is the leader of outdoor tourism through its campsite networks located from north to south of Portugal.Amongst the services offered are also hotels, holidayflats and local housing, as part of asustainable growth and nature integration framework.
Treatment, use, purpose and collection of personal data
Within the scope of our commercial activity or Orbitur’s affiliation/ fidelity programme,carried outby its national branches, website, as well as fairs and other promotional events, we will collect your personal data, such as your name, country, email, date of birth, address or phone number. Orbitur will also collect information regarding your browsing on our website. We use it to improve the quality of your visit; so you can have a comprehensive experience, by monitoring your reservation status and customizing our site according to your personal needs, those of your friends or family members. Accordingly, we process said data with the intent of maintaining and improving the quality of the service provided to you.
We also collect information about your accommodation, transmitted to us by tourism affiliates with whom you got in contactin order to book it.
At all times we apply the technical and organizational measures necessary to ensure the confidentiality and integrity of your personal data. Your personal information is always kept confidential and with protection guarantees against its unauthorized and/or unlawful use.
Your information shall be shared with third parties only when transmission is of statutory obligation (for instance, with public entities or control authorities).
We will keep your personal information for as long as your account is active, that is, in need for relevant activities, namely, to provide you the requested services. In some situations, to fulfil statutory obligations, we may be obliged to store your data for a longer period.
Your rights under RGPD and as Data Holder
In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation, you have the right of access, modification, personal data exclusion, treatment limitation, objection to data treatment as well as the entitlement to portability, even if the exercise of this right does not compromise the lawfulness of our treatment on the basis of a previously given consent.
Therefore, under RGPD’s specific conditions, you are entitled to a copy of the personal information you provided to Orbitur, and you are entitled to correct any inaccuracies in it.
We will apply our best efforts, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation, to provide, correct and delete personal information held in our records.
